Try Arts Morawa

Saturday 12 Oct 3:30pm - 5:30pm Morawa Town Oval

All are invited to attend Desert Blue Connect's Morawa Community Connections Expo at the Town Oval in Morawa from 3:30pm on Saturday 12th October. Free ‘Try Arts’ activities during the afternoon will include printmaking with Francesco Geronazzo,  vocal workshop with Tina Stefanou, and creative activities with writer Sarah-Jayne Eeles. The Expo and these workshops are all free, so just come along!

Night At THe Gallery

Saturday 12 Oct 7pm, The Bank 8 Macpherson St Carnamah

All are invited to enjoy a Night at the Gallery from 7pm on Saturday 12th October at The Bank Gallery in Carnamah. Prepare yourself for an evening of creative delights including opera performances by soprano Caitlin Cassidy, book readings by Goldfields author Sarah-Jayne Eeles, and the launch of textile artist Deidre Robb’s exhibition Tender.

There will be creative stations set up throughout the gallery where you can try your hand at sketching with Mid West visual artist Marina Baker and contribute to textile artist Deidre Robb’s community collaborative work. We will also doing a sneak peak of the new Gallery Gardens which will become home to next year’s spring events.

Homestead Tour

Sunday 13 Oct 10am - 10:30am, Macpherson Homestead Homestead

Tour of the historic Macpherson Homestead, which has stood since 1869 and is located one kilometre east of the Carnamah townsite on the Bunjil Road. This guided tour will be led by local historian Andrew Bowman-Bright.

Long Table Lunch

Sunday 13 Oct 11am - 1pm, The Exchange 4 Macpherson St Carnamah

All are invited to enjoy a Long Table Continental Brunch at The Exchange in Carnamah on Sunday 13th October. Over conversation and an assortment of fresh fruits pastries, assorted savouries and refreshments enjoy an opera performance by soprano Caitlin Cassidy, live music by Mid West musician Jessica Swift, a special presentation by filmmaker and interdisciplinary artist Tina Stefanou (whose tractor-covering woolly mammoth will be on display), and conversation with printmaker Francesco Geronazzo who is presently in residence with North Midlands Project. 
If you have time, we also invite you to stay after brunch to take part in the Arts Studio mini drop-in workshops with local and visiting creatives.

All activities are free to attend and no bookings are required. Come along and participate in one or multiple workshops at The Exchange at 4 Macpherson Street, Carnamah on Saturday 12th October from 1:30 to 3:30pm.

DADDA ART CAMP

The DADAA Art Camp continues DADAA's commitment to successive years of presence and regional arts development which focusses on the intersections of mental, community health, disability, youth and Aboriginal voices and whole of community. 

During 2023/2024 the regional printmaking residencies and sustained partnership activity across communities in the wheatbelt region have continued for DADAA's Ink and Thread project, led by DADAA Director of Art Strategy Julie Barratt. Come along and enjoy community participatory workshops for all ages and skill levels!
