Gabrielle Butler
2018 Act Belong Commit Youth Ambassador
Gabrielle is an emerging visual artist, filmmaker and photographer from Perenjori, one of the nine communities of the North Midlands.
Gabrielle completed her Bachelor of Arts at Curtin University, majoring in Screen Art with a minor in Photography. Her work has been included in the Year 12 Perspectives at the Art Gallery of Western Australia.
In 2018 Gabrielle ran Act Belong Commit community workshops across the North Midlands, in Mullewa and Geraldton. She worked with local youth on a mural inside The Exchange in Carnamah; and created the enormous artwork 'Rejuvenate' (pictured below) for our exhibition A Pastoralist Family.
After establishing a career in the creative industries, Gabrielle returned in 2022 to undertake a three-part residency with North Midlands Project.
