Act-belong-commit I Homegrown Baskets

Homegrown Baskets

Glenda Blyth, weaver extraordinaire and self-proclaimed Basketcase Lady, is here to show you how you can make a one-of-a-kind basket from whatever is in your house and garden.

Every creation will be unique and resourcefully made from materials in someone's home, so let's see what weird and wonderful weaves we wind up with! The materials you use are limited only by your imagination. We invite everyone to bring their creations to the Together Again party as we celebrate everyone's resourcefulness and creativity.

get involved!

  1. Watch Glenda's short tutorial videos below.
  2. Find materials for your homegrown basket around your house and garden- consider; Rope, grasses, leaves, strips of fabric, string, paper, knick-knacks, fur, flowers, wool, felt, tinsel, shells, nuts, twigs, plastic, etc. What materials are unique to your home?
  3. Get started! Your homegrown basket can be as big or small as you like.
  4. Post a picture of your basket in progress to our Creative @ Home Facebook group, share on Instagram with #creativeathome or email through to hello@geraldtonproject.org.au
  5. Images and the stories will be showcased on our virtual gallery Infinity in May 2020.
  6. If you live in the Greater Geraldton region, you're also invited to bring your object and story to share at our community event when we are all Together Again.
