Act-Belong-Commit Young Artist Academy

Origami TALKING CROW

Hi there, I'm Lizzy!

I’m an artist living in Geraldton in the Mid West region of Western Australia. Each week I'll be adding a new Young Artist Academy activities that uses materials found around your home that the whole family can enjoy. Parent supervision is recommended for those under 13.

TALKING CROW

I'm going to show you how to make a talking crow using origami. Your crow will look like it is talking with its beak opening and closing as you flap its wings. You can decorate your crow to make it even more animated!

To keep the fun going you can also book a free 'Family Zoom' session with me for this activity. Click here to book a session. (Family Zooms are available to people living in the Mid West region of Western Australia)

If you have a question, please email me at lizzy@northmidlands.org.au

Optional Extras for this ACTIVITY

Have MORE fun with how you decorate your crow!

Do you have any feathers to stick on it? Colour in the wings and beak however you like. You could even glue googlie eyes on!

Experiment with making your crow out of other types and sizes of paper.

Newspaper and wrapping paper can work. What else do you think could work too?

Share what you have MADE

We want to see your Creation!

Once you have completed the activity take a photo your work and post it in our Act-Belong-Commit Creative @ Home Facebook group or email your photo to hello@northmidlands.org.au

Keep the Fun Going with A Free FAMILY ZOOM!

Act-Belong-Commit FAMILY ZOOM

Pull up a chair... welcome to our Act-Belong-Commit Family Zoom! You and your family are invited to choose a time with Lizzy to participate in a mini family workshop to create your talking crow!

For a safe, personal and social experience, each session is designed for one family and our creative. Sessions are free and run for around 20 minutes in a private Zoom room. Extended family members are encouraged to join in from different locations.

As our sessions are designed as a safe space for people of all ages to get creative together, we ask that a parent is on the session at all times.
