Cooking with kids is fun and educational. They improve their reading skills while learning some maths, and about weighing and measuring and the whole chemistry of putting ingredients together in certain ways for a delicious treat they can enjoy with their family.
From cookies and cakes to simple meals, kids can do it all. They also learn about the produce that they are cooking with and their nutritional benefits. Our kids need to learn their way around the kitchen for their own sake as well as their future family’s sake. Secondly, it’s a life skill everyone should have. And, lastly, if I can teach them to cook a few things on their own I’ll have the comfort of knowing they won’t starve when they move out.
